Most Dangerous Intersections in Miami-Dade County

With a population of over 2.5 million, not accounting for tourist, Miami-Dade County sure has a lot of people moving around at any given time. Managing all of that movement with outdated traffic rules and regulation just is not enough.

Every year, the number of traffic related injuries continues to increase. No county in all of Florida was responsible for a larger percentage of traffic accidents than Miami-Dade County. In their 2015 report, the Florida Department of Highway Safety & Motor Vehicles disclosed that Miami-Dade was responsible for 63,451 incidents of car crashes.

As a 5.46% increase, it is certain that some intersections are more dangerous than others. In Miami-Dade County, be sure to use caution when driving in these intersections:

  • NE 2nd Avenue and 36th Street
  • SW 117th Avenue and Kendall Drive
  • Hialeah Gardens Blvd. and North Okeechobee Rd.
  • NE 1st Avenue and NE 6th Street
  • NW 22nd Avenue and NW 62nd Street
  • NW 20th Street and NW 22nd Avenue

These are just a few of our local intersections where extra attention is required, but many more exist. As a driver on the roads in Florida, please be fully aware of your surroundings every time you operate a motor vehicle.
